We will be hosting the Frank Brown Songwriter’s Festival Saturday November 5th & 12th from 5-7 p.m, here at Buena Vista in Orange Beach. Get the chance to hear live music from those that have written for George Strait, Jimmy Buffet, and Tim McGraw.  Get the chance to meet actual Grammy winning writers as they converge in our event center and tell stories of how and why they wrote some of the world’s greatest music. Wood Newton

Wood was born and raised in Hampton, Arkansas, population 1600. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in business administration in 1970.

Wood and his wife Gloria moved to Nashville in 1976 to get in the music business. Since then, as a songwriter, Wood has written some of country music’s biggest hits for Kenny Rogers, Steve Wariner, and David Ball just to name a few.

Christina Christian

Born and raised in South Alabama, Americana/Country Singer-Songwriter, Christina Christian is in it for the long haul. For the past 5 years, Christina has traveled the Southeast, mainly Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida to perform her music. The 22 year old currently lives in Perdido Key, Florida entertaining her home base along the the Gulf Coast.

Guitarist, vocalist, songwriter. Jonmark Stone was born in Waco Texas, raised in Va. Beach, Virginia. Performing professionally since age 12, venues large and small — stadiums, restaurants, lounges, gambling boats and ski resorts, coast to coast.

Jim Sales

Jim Sales was first introduced to the guitar as a toddler watching his Grandmother play hymns. His Dad showed him his first three chords when he was 10. Since then music has been his passion. He served in the U.S. Army as a radio/TV announcer. After the Army, Jim moved to Nashville and took a job as guitarist for country legend, Vern Gosdin. Since then he’s written for various other artists including Randy Travis.

The festival is named for Frank Brown, who was a night watchman at the Flora-Bama for 28 years. He was 91 when he retired and was featured on radio host Paul Harvey’s radio show, “The Rest of the Story.”
